Game 2: Gucci Gang 76 BBC Linz-Lady Devils 43
In the marquee match-up of this group, the Lady Devils would find themselves battling a team sporting an almost 2,00 meter big Center under the basket. The game started equal for both teams as the Lady Devils were able to use their quickness to keep up with the bigger opponent. But, as the game wore on, the shots weren’t falling for the Lady Devils and their inside presence made shots around the rim very difficult. The Gucci Gang used their advantage on the offensive end as well and were able to build a maintain a lead which led to victory at the end.
Game 3: BBC Linz-Lady Devils 62 BC Darmstadt 38
Coming off the loss to the „Gucci Gang“, the Lady Devils would have to play their 2nd game of the day less than three hours later. Facing a talented and quick team from Darmstadt, the Lady Devils knew they would have to be ready. Linz came out strong with their aggressive defense not allowing the two best players of Darmstadt to get on track. The fast break and half court offense were clicking on all cylinders and the Lady Devils showed their heart and character fighting back from a loss earlier in the day to decimate their opponents from Darmstadt.

In a demonstration of intensity and defense, the Lady Devils from Linz jumped out to a 16-2 lead and built momentum from there to steamroll their way to a victory over their guests from Italy. Game 5: BBC Linz-Lady Devils 61 ASD Polisportiva Casarsa 24 – Achtelfinale
Starting the Play-off round, the Lady Devils would need to win three games on Friday to advance to the Finals on Saturday. It was a „winner take all“ contest and the stakes were high. Having seen their opponent play the day before the game strategy was planned. Linz came out like they were shot from a cannon with a high intensity defense, Linz built a lead right from the start. The Defense was very strong and the effort overall from the Team incredibly efficient. Calling it a „mini 3 game series“, Linz survived and advanced in Game 1.
Game 6: BBC Linz-Lady Devils 43 Basket T71 Dudelange 55 – Quarterfinals
In a hard fought game, the Linz Lady Devils finally began to show the effects of the Tournament, wearing down in the 2nd half to fall to a talented team from Luxembourg in the Quarterfinals of the Wien Österturnier 2018. The game was close right up until the 4th quarter when Linz went cold from the field and the team from Dudelange with their physical presence wore down the tired Lady Devils. At the end, Linz would go down, but not before they showed themselves very well in this incredibly high level basketball game.
Coach Beszczynski: „Overall, I am very proud of our overall Team effort in the Tournament. We played some incredible minutes of basketball especially in the Achtelfinale against Polisportiva. We learned a lot about ourselves over the four days of the Tourament and overall our players will take this experience with them as we continue back into the Austrian League. We represented our Club and Austria proud throughout the Tournament and having the chance to play against International competition is something they need to see what level they’re at. We are exicted to get back on the court and prepare for our upcoming games.“
